Ask ten electricians what their website is for and nine will say “so people can find us.” Which is true, and also the reason most of those websites don’t work.
Being findable is step one. Converting the person who found you turning a search result into a ringing phone is a different job entirely, and it’s the one almost nobody designs for.
DreamNexTech builds Website Design for Electricians around a single measurable outcome: more quote requests and more calls. Here’s what actually goes into that.

The Only Metric That Matters
Not visits. Not time on page. Not bounce rate.
Calls and quote requests per hundred visitors.
Once you measure that, most design debates resolve themselves. Should the hero have a photo of the team or a call button? Whichever produces more calls. Should the service list be on the homepage or on separate pages? Separate pages, because they rank and convert better.
We set up call tracking and form tracking at launch on every build, so you can see the number rather than guess at it. A site that generates eleven calls a week instead of three is a different business, and you should be able to prove it.
The Structure We Build
Homepage. A hero stating what you do and where, a tappable call button, trust signals directly beneath, a short service overview linking out to individual pages, three recent jobs with photos, and reviews. Nothing else. The homepage is a signpost, not a brochure.
One page per service. Rewires. Fuse board replacement. EICR and landlord certificates. EV charger installation. Fault finding. Outdoor and garden lighting. Emergency callouts.
Each page explains what the job involves, what it typically costs or what affects the price, how long it takes, and what happens next. This is the single biggest change most electrician websites need — a bullet list on the homepage cannot rank for eight different searches, but eight pages can. Electrician website design services.
One page per area you cover. Real content about that town, not the same paragraph with the place name swapped. Google spots the swap and so do customers.
About page with actual people. Names, faces, years in the trade, qualifications. A stranger is deciding whether to let you into their house.
Contact page that isn’t just a form. Phone number, service area map, response times, and how to reach you outside hours.
What Makes an Electrician Site Convert
Speed. A site that takes five seconds on mobile has already lost roughly half its visitors before the page appears. We build to under 2.5 seconds on a mid-range phone over 4G, and we report the number at handover.
A tappable phone number in the header on every page. Not the homepage. Every page.
A sticky mobile call bar. Two buttons fixed to the bottom of the screen — Call and Get a Quote. It’s the highest-converting element on almost every trade website we build, and it takes an afternoon to implement.
Short forms. Name, phone, postcode, brief description. Four fields. Every additional field measurably reduces submissions, and you can ask the rest on the phone.
Proof placed where it’s read. Certification numbers, insurance cover, review count, and photos of finished work — above the fold, not on a separate page nobody visits.
Clear pricing signals. You don’t have to publish a price list. But “most fuse board upgrades run £450–£700 depending on the board and circuit count” filters out time-wasters and reassures serious enquiries.

Design Choices That Support the Job
Electrician website design should read as competent and current, not flashy.
We work with high-contrast typography that stays legible in poor light, a restrained palette — usually deep navy or charcoal with one bright accent — and real photography of your van, your team, and your finished work. Stock images of models in hard hats consistently reduce trust, because everyone has seen them.
We also keep motion minimal. Sliders, animated counters, and parallax scrolling slow the page and pull attention away from the call button. On a site whose whole purpose is a phone call, that’s a straightforward trade-off.
Examples of our build quality and finished work are in our development portfolio.
The Technical Work Underneath
This is the part that separates a website for an electrician that ranks from one that just exists:
Electricianschema markup with service area, hours, and contact details- Consistent name, address and phone formatting across your site, Google Business Profile, and every directory listing
- Hand-coded semantic HTML rather than page-builder output
- Images in WebP and AVIF, sized per viewport with
srcset - Fonts subset and preloaded to eliminate layout shift
- Responsive from 320px upward, tested on real devices
- 44px minimum tap targets and tested contrast ratios
None of this is visible to your customers. All of it affects whether they find you.
WordPress or Custom Build?
Both, depending on what you need.
If you’ll be adding job photos and blog posts regularly, WordPress makes sense — and we build it properly, without a bloated theme and eleven plugins. If your content is fairly static, a hand-coded site is faster, cheaper to host, and far more secure.
We’ll recommend based on how you actually work rather than what’s easiest to sell. If WordPress is right for you, we handle full business and WordPress website development end to end.
Timeline and What You Need to Provide
Most electrician sites take two to four weeks, depending on how many service and area pages are involved.
What we need from you: your certification details, a list of services with rough pricing guidance, the areas you cover, twenty or thirty photos of finished work from your phone, and half an hour on a call talking about the jobs you most want more of.
What you get: a live site, analytics and call tracking configured, schema in place, Google Business Profile aligned, and training so you can add content yourself.
Let’s Talk About Your Site
If you’re getting traffic but not calls, the problem is conversion, not visibility — and it’s usually a handful of specific, fixable things.

Website design and development sits alongside the SEO and digital marketing services we run. For electricians, it’s the one where results show up as a phone that rings more often.
